
Child Healthcare Specialist

The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife who delivers high-quality child health services to women, children, and families in the antenatal period from birth to 12 years of age. This role requires individualized care and involves working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Advanced Nursing Care: Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in child and family health delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Model Excellent Standards: Demonstrate ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives, and visitors, maintaining a positive workplace culture through well-developed consultation, liaison, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Multidisciplinary Teamwork: Participate in the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes and contribute to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
- Prioritization and Organization: Prioritize clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organization of complex caseloads, using information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
- Post-graduate Qualification: Post-graduate qualification in Child Health is highly desirable, and at least 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Vaccination: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16.
