A top construction company in Melbourne is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee construction activities on-site. With a strong commitment to safety and quality, the ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Site Foreperson or similar role within the construction industry.

About the Role

As a Construction Project Manager, you'll be responsible for coordinating and supervising daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and safety protocols. You will also lead and motivate on-site personnel, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives efficiently.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that the site is safe after working hours, fencing is secure, complete filing, paperwork, emailing, site diary, and generally prepare for the next day.
  • Lead and motivate on-site personnel, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to address issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Alongside the Construction Manager, you will attend site meetings, schedule material deliveries, monitor and report on costings and collate and analyse variations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor project progress and report updates to management, proactively addressing any challenges or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, equipment, and labor usage to support project planning and budget management.
  • Organise and submit delay notices, extensions of time, RFIs, Builder's Instructions.
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems before they occur.

Experience and skills required:

  • Proven experience as a Site Foreperson or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Carpentry background desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire on-site teams.
  • Proficiency in safety regulations and best practices.
  • Familiarity with construction management software is advantageous.

Compensation Package:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
