Disability Support Worker - Mental Health

Empower individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives by joining our team of dedicated Disability Support Workers. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to clients in their daily living activities, promoting independence and enhancing their overall well-being.

About the Role:

You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, goals, and aspirations. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting Independence: Assist clients in developing daily living skills, including personal care routines, to achieve their personal goals.
  • Connecting Individuals to Community: Facilitate meaningful connections for clients with local community groups, recreational activities, and sporting events that align with their interests.
  • Assisting with Essential Life Skills: Support clients in navigating public transportation and securing employment opportunities.
  • Collaborating for Success: Partner with families, employers, and support services to create a comprehensive support system.
  • Advocating for Change: Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the necessary support and resources to thrive in their communities.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in disability support.
  • A Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support, or a related qualification (desired).
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and experience with continence care.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
