Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of leadership and security expertise. As a Senior Security Officer, you will be responsible for leading a team of security staff and providing guidance and support to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of security staff to ensure the effective delivery of security services
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NSW Health standards
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential security threats
  • Provide training and development opportunities to security staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff
  • Monitor and report on security incidents and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences

Requirements

  • Hold a current Class 1A NSW Security Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate and a current valid Class C Driver's Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively and safely managing confrontation and aggression
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, co-ordinate and supervise staff within a complex environment
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating appropriately and effectively in a wide range of complex situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of computer systems, access control systems, CCTV and Fire Indication panels
  • Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, staff and other key stakeholders
  • Experience in providing input to improve systems or processes in the workplace
  • Demonstrated experience in effective conflict management
