Lead Workplace Relations Strategist

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful change in the workplace relations sphere. Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you will lead high-performing teams, provide strategic advice to executive leaders, and spearhead enterprise-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive workplace relations strategy, encompassing enterprise bargaining, performance management, compliance with employment legislation, and risk culture reporting;
  • Collaborate with both the Workplace Relations and Senior HR Business Partner teams to deliver integrated support to senior leaders across faculties, schools, and professional units;
  • Advise and support executive stakeholders on workforce planning, organisational change, complex case management, and reform strategies;
  • Represent the organisation in external forums and negotiations, fostering collaborative relationships with union stakeholders;
  • Oversee conduct and compliance processes, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout;
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of legislative changes, employment law, and sector trends, translating insight into actionable plans and educational initiatives; and
  • Contribute to the broader People and Culture strategic direction, promoting a values-based, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
This role requires a strong background in workplace relations, coupled with exceptional leadership and strategic advisory skills. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
