Investment Research Specialist

Morningstar is a leading provider of independent investment research and analysis. We are currently seeking an Investment Research Specialist to join our team.

This role involves conducting in-depth research on Australian and global fund managers, assisting with fund manager interviews, and creating clear and concise rating notes and research reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and justifying opinions on investment strategies for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct thorough research on fund managers and their products to provide insightful and actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with the development of research reports and rating notes that meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Promote Morningstar's research brand recognition through thought leadership initiatives and regional events.
  • Support client-related output and contribute to the development of new methodologies and tools.
Requirements
  • A strong passion for investing and helping investors make informed decisions.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial markets developed personally and professionally.
  • Independent thinker with at least 2 years of professional experience in the financial services industry or related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global team of investment experts, qualitative researchers, data analysts, and software developers.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to think creatively and present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative, work unsupervised, and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in PC and mainstream software packages, with experience in Morningstar Direct an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degrees and certifications desirable.
  • CFA designation or enrollment an asset.
