• Casual Opportunity: HEW Level 1 $41.43 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading)
• Open to current Macquarie Business School students only

THE ROLE 

As an MQBS Student Assistant, you will provide support and assistance across a range of Macquarie Business School events, workshops, seminars, outreach initiatives and administrative functions. 

To support this work, your tasks may range from:  

  • Assisting with the setup/packing up of events, and associated logistics and delivery 

    • Providing support for online workshops and hybrid classes via Zoom and MS Teams, ensuring seamless interaction between in-person and online participants, managing technology and fostering engagement across both formats 

      • Providing general information/advice and assistance to students, parents and other stakeholders at events relating to studying at Macquarie Business School 

        • Participating in campus tours and guiding participants around campus, providing support for interactive program activities and information sessions 

          • Providing support in event promotion 

            • Providing straightforward administrative assistance for student experience activities including the collection of data and more complex administrative activities under supervision 

              • Participating in social media activities such as appearing in promotional videos and photographs, to promote the faculty 

After-hours and/or weekend work both on and off campus may be required to support specific events and initiatives.

SELECTION CRITERIA 

Essential 

  • Current Macquarie Business School student enrolled in a full degree 

    • Completion of at least 40 credit points (cp) or above and a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 or above  

      • Must have at least one year of study remaining (80 credit points or more remaining) 

        • Positivity and enthusiasm for the promotion of university/ Macquarie Business School life 

          • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

            • Strong organisational and time management skills 

              • Ability to show initiative and work with minimal supervision autonomously or as part of a team  

                • Able to undertake light to moderate physical tasks, including handling boxes of approximately 10 kg weight on a regular basis 

Desirable 

  • Public Speaking or presenting experience 

    • Graphic design, social media, photography, videography, video editing and hands-on technical skills 

      • Experience using Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 

        • Awareness of the Macquarie Business School structure, including academic, extra-curricular activities and student opportunities  

          • Strong knowledge base in your field of study
