About Brimbank
Brimbank is Melbourne’s second largest municipality. Only 10 kilometres west of Melbourne, it is the gateway to Melbourne’s western suburbs and the regions. With more than 196,000 residents born overseas, and more than 160 languages spoken, Brimbank is one of Australia’s most multicultural and diverse municipalities. It comprises 25 suburbs and the five key activity centres of Sunshine, St Albans, Deer Park, Sydenham and Keilor – all thriving communities with unique attractions and amenities from expansive community spaces to vibrant public art. Residents and visitors alike use Brimbank’s many playgrounds, parks, libraries, neighbourhood houses and community centres. Key attractions include the state‑of‑the‑art Bowery Theatre in St Albans and the world‑class Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre, featuring a 24‑hour gym, waterslides, and heated Olympic‑sized swimming pools, with a six‑green‑star rating for sustainable design. Brimbank continues to grow, with many transformational infrastructure projects about to break ground.
