Do you have previous management or leadership experience in either Youth & Family Services, Community Services, Employment Services, Hospitality or Retail and enjoy leading and supporting your Business Manager and co-workers?
Join APM as a Senior Youth Support Worker supporting a team across Sydney East Metro,(Burwood, Hurstville, Lakemba, Rockdale, Sutherland).
The role
You'll be empowering and motivating Youth Support Workers to drive the absolute best outcomes for their clients. Your teams/' success is what drives you, so sharing your knowledge through mentoring and coaching will be important, supporting them to hit their KPIs. You'll also lead by example, engaging with your own clients to provide tailored employment services.
What makes a great Senior Youth Support Worker?
You’re driven to exceed personal and professional goals and take pride in helping others do the same. Strong communication and negotiation skills are some of your assets, along with the ability to identify a person’s strengths to create solutions that are ‘outside the square’. You’ll know that resilience is important in this line of work, and you have it in spades along with your impressive ability when it comes to time management.
What we need from you
- Previous management and leadership experience
- Ability to coach, motivate and provide guidance.
- A proactive mindset and willingness to step up and take responsibility.
- Proven experience working to KPIs in a results-driven environment.
- A creative problem solver who can tackle complex issues as they arise
- Ability to establish strong relationships with Community organisations, Schools, and RTO’s
- Willing to complete a Criminal History Check
- Working with Children Check (Blue card)
- A current driver’s licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
- Ideally you will hold a Cert IV Youth Work, Cert IV Employment Services or Cert IV Community Services or higher or equivalent (if you don’t hold formal qualifications, you must be happy to obtain).
