The Opportunity Maribyrnong Youth Services is seeking suitably qualified and experienced, enthusiastic Youth support Workers in a casual capacity to join our team to assist in delivering programs for young people across the municipality. We are looking for: Maribyrnong Youth Services is looking for casual Youth support Workers to support programs delivered to young people aged 12 to 25 years across the municipality. Casual Youth Workers will support staff in running youth engagement and events, drop-ins, recreation and art activities, school holiday programs, develop youth social media and digital content and lots more. We seek casual Youth support Workers who are flexible and able to deliver safe, meaningful, and engaging programs for and with young people. We expect that casual Youth support Workers can build rapport and trust with young people, so they feel supported and safe. Child safety is at the forefront of your mind. What you'll be working on: Supporting the delivery of programs for young people that are targeted, purposeful and engaging, such as: - Drop-ins: after-school programming delivered at venues across Maribyrnong city council. Currently, this includes Braybrook and Footscray with other venues coming up later in the year. - Assisting with a variety of school holiday activities for 12-17 year olds, from art and craft, to tech to recreation. - Other projects and events such as Amplify gigs, Youth Advisory events and youth groups or committees. - Develop digital presence to increase online engagement and participation with core programs and services. About You To be considered for this role, you will have the following: - Certificate IV or above in Youth Work / Community Development fields or lesser qualifications with some relevant experience. - Current Working with Children's Check. - Current and valid full Victorian Driver's Licence - First Aid with current CPR - Strong communication, flexibility and availability for work in "youth friendly" hours, such as weekday afternoons, weekends and during school holidays - Passion for working with young people - Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CC, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, or iMovie - Able to demonstrate an understanding and application of the YACVic Code of Ethical Practice for youth workers, and familiarity with the Victorian Child Safe Standards - No relevant criminal record found in police check.
