Department for Infrastructure and Transport

Job reference: 705315

Location: 5000 - ADELAIDE

Job status: Short Term Contract

Eligibility: Open to Everyone

At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city’s public transport network.

Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.

The Opportunity

The North‑South Corridor Program Delivery Office (NSC PDO) is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst to strengthen project reporting and analytics across one of South Australia’s most complex infrastructure programs.

In this senior role, you will be accountable for the delivery and continuous improvement of whole‑of‑project reporting, ensuring data‑driven insights enhance decision‑making and project management of key milestones. You’ll play a key role in administering and leveraging project systems and data warehouses, providing high‑level analysis and comprehensive reports that support the achievement of program objectives.

Working closely with the Business Intelligence Specialist, you will engage with stakeholders to understand current and emerging project requirements, document business needs and functional specifications, and design innovative solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. Your expertise in reporting frameworks, governance, and analytics will help shape smarter, more efficient project delivery for the Department and the community.

About you

You are a skilled and proactive professional with extensive experience in Microsoft 365 applications, SQL, and Power BI, with a proven record of delivering high‑quality reporting and analytics solutions. You thrive in fast‑paced environments, quickly analyse complex issues, engage with stakeholders, and produce clear, evidence‑based recommendations that support time‑critical decision‑making.

You bring experience working with both technical and non‑technical teams, building shared understanding and ensuring effective collaboration across diverse groups. Your communication style is open, inclusive, and confident, enabling you to navigate challenging conversations with diplomacy while keeping stakeholders focused on outcomes.

With a strong background in large‑scale reporting and information‑management projects using agile and other methodologies, you combine technical expertise with strategic thinking to deliver solutions that improve efficiency and decision‑making. You also have proven capability in reviewing requirements, defining and executing test cases, and validating outcomes against agreed criteria, ensuring reliability and accuracy in every solution you deliver.

Highly organised and adaptable, you plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and competing demands. Whether working independently or within a team, you show sound judgement, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement, making you a trusted contributor to the Department’s objectives.
