The Role
As a Service Improvement Leader, you and a team of child protection practitioners will provide direct support to senior operational leadership to build the capacity, capability, and sustainability of the child protection service in line with legislative and departmental requirements. With a key responsibility for performance analysis and the establishment of business and work processes you will support local capacity improvements to better manage and identify opportunities to improve consistency and compliance and promote reform.
The role of the Principal Services Improvement Leader will use and promote a range of contemporary methods, systems and approaches to enhance the department/'s capacity to manage performance, business planning and resource prioritisation to better meet the requirements of local areas. Providing evidence-based advice to operational and policy areas on opportunities to improve systems, processes and service pathways, is a key requirement.
In this role you will regularly travel to divisional child protection offices including to regional and remote areas across the state, providing in-person capability and capacity building of child protection practitioners, and work with areas to improve service delivery systems. If required travel will be undertake during standard business hours starting from the primary office location. If overnight stays are required, trips will typically be scheduled Monday to Thursday. The incumbent will be required to stay in accommodation provided during the week and return home on Thursday afternoon. When travel is not required, hybrid work arrangements from the Service Improvement Practitioner/'s local primary office location will apply.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Risk assessment and analysis: proactively identifies and analyses patterns associated with risk assessment and competently and autonomously exercises delegations.
- Child-centred and family-focused relationship-based practice: provides expert advice on best practice and supervision to drive child-centred and family focused practice
- Problem solving: Applies a system focus on delivering results for the wider program
