**Role**:
Education Improvement Leaders (EILs) are a regional resource, working primarily in Area. Under the leadership of the area based Senior Education Improvement Leaders (SEILs) the Education Improvement Leaders work closely and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve outcomes for all students in Area regardless of background or circumstance. The Education Improvement Leader will work with:
- a Senior Education Improvement Leader in an Area to support the work of a designated Network,
- schools identified by the Area Executive Director that require support.
- the Senior School Improvement Practice Lead (SSIPL), and other EILs across the Area and Region
Education Improvement Leaders are accountable for their Area's contribution to improved learning and development outcomes by:
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary Area team to drive strong school improvement and student outcomes
- Working collaboratively and productively with Area based Senior Education Improvement Leaders
- Under the direction of the Senior Education Improvement Leader, working proactively with school networks to:
- build their leadership and school improvement capacity through the FISO 2.0; and
- create a high-performance learning culture with a focus on literacy/English and numeracy/mathematic improvement
- support development and implementation of the Network PL plan
- lead and/or support and participate in Network, Area or Regional communities of practice as required
- build network capability to access, analyse and interpret data available on school performance indicators
- other duties as directed by the Senior Education Improvement Leader that are consistent with Area and regional approaches
- manage and coordinate TLI, MYLNS and assisting schools to develop and effectively implement small group tutoring as part of a multi-tiered system of learning support
- utilise Professional Learning Communities practices to drive strong school improvement and student outcomes
- Analysis of student outcomes data and evidence at a school, network, Area or regional level to identify professional learning needs and areas for improvement
- Participating in Professional Learning and regional Education Improvement Leader meetings as arranged by the Regional Executive or SSIPL
- Participating in Area School Improvement Team meetings and Regional meetings as required by the Area Executive Director or Executive Director School Performance
- Supporting the implementation of new DE initiatives as required by the Area Executive Director or Executive Director School Performance
**Responsibilities**:

- Establish routine mechanisms for staff collaborative inquiry using the FISO Improvement Cycle. Depending on school need, this could focus on building teacher capacity in the following areas to improve student outcomes:
- Establishing school improvement infrastructure e.g. SITs or PLCs
- Building the capability of middle leaders
- Curriculum planning
- Moderation and assessment
- Use of student data
- Differentiation
- Implementation of High Impact Teaching Strategies
