About the role

In this role, you will play a critical role in delivering (Employee Relations) ER initiatives, including change programs and compliance projects that respond to the evolving internal and external environment with respect to ER and (Industrial Relations) IR. With a strong emphasis on ER project management and proactive compliance, the role supports in the development of scalable solutions that build consistency in how ER risks are managed across the business. Part of this role will also work with leaders and the People & Culture (P&C) team across business areas to develop and deploy fit for purpose, future led ER practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the proactive compliance plan for the Ampol Group while proactively contributing to build a culture of compliance within the ER team and with business leaders

- Lead or contribute to strategic ER projects that strengthen compliance, support transformation, and improve ER frameworks

- Support the development and implementation of ER tools, policies, and guidance materials that promote consistency in how ER risks are managed

- Monitor the external employment and regulatory landscape, identifying changes that may impact internal policies and recommending proactive responses

- Partner with business leaders and HR teams to identify compliance gaps, capability needs, or improvement opportunities, and deliver targeted solutions

- Analyse ER case data and themes to inform priority areas, and help guide the evolution of ER practice and education

- Play a lead role in policy governance cycles, supporting periodic reviews and alignment to legal and business requirements

About you

You will be an individual with excellent communication, who thoroughly enjoys providing ER and IR advice and wants to grow their knowledge. You will be highly resilient, adaptable and future focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work across functions in a complex environment.

Key skills and experience

- Strong knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand employment law, modern awards, enterprise agreements, with the ability to translate these into practical and compliance ER solutions

- Experience in leading ER compliance programs, with a focus on regulatory response initiatives

- Demonstrated capability in designing and delivering ER related projects with cross-functional stakeholder involvement, including uplift in documentation frameworks and capability toolkits to lift ER maturity across the Group

- Ability to apply judgement and assess ER risk to develop scalable solution that promote consistency and alignment across business units

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across corporate and operational environments

- Confidence in drafting clear and fit for purpose documentation for ER change related programs, leader guidance material and communications

- Experience using data and case trends to inform priorities, shape compliance focus areas and track effectiveness
