The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM)/ Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for building and maintaining strong strategic collaborative partnerships with a dedicated panel of complex, high value Vero brokers. SBDMs influence and collaboratively network with underwriters, claims and credit teams to deliver customer-focused service to help brokers grow their business. SBDMs are responsible for joint strategy development and objective setting with Brokers and following through on all supporting activities to ultimately deliver GWP retention, profitable growth and broker satisfaction.
What you’ll do (not limited to):
- Plan, build and maintain strong strategic and collaborative partnerships with key staff (particularly at executive level) in broker panel offices in line with established service and value propositions
- Develop an intimate understanding of each broker’s business structure, complexity, political drivers, culture, clients, issues, risks, needs, systems, constraints and objectives
- Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships and networks to deliver enhanced service and value in line with the broker’s value to Vero
- Coordinate influential internal stakeholders and key brokerage staff in strategic business planning activities to develop competitive strategies (that include both a short-term and long-term view), joint objectives, supporting activities and a monitoring plan that focus on the achievement of joint growth
- Coordinate, prioritise and manage activities to maximise outcomes and exceed expectations.
What you will bring:
- Successful insurance experience and broking experience
- Successful sales experience and knowledge of sales principles
- Commercial understanding of the general insurance market, products and underwriting
- An understanding of medium to large sized business operations - Highly desirable
- Knowledge of the broker landscape and key/influential brokers.
