Role Overview
UMENCO is currently recruiting a HR Manager for a contemporary womenswear brand, based in Sydney.
The HR Manager will lead all HR functions, driving a high-performance culture while supporting the leadership team in aligning HR initiatives with the company’s strategic goals. This stand-alone role is key to ensuring best-in-class people practices, compliance and employee engagement across the organisation. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing recruitment, workforce planning, performance management and ensuring compliance with Australian employment laws.
Key responsibilities include managing the full recruitment process, building relationships with recruitment agencies, universities and industry professionals and ensuring the smooth onboarding of new employees. The HR Manager will work closely with department heads to develop strategic workforce plans, anticipate hiring needs and address skills gaps. The role also involves creating talent pipelines to support future growth and fostering an inclusive, positive workplace culture.
In addition to recruitment and workforce planning, the HR Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing guidance to both employees and managers. They will mediate and resolve employee issues while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and champion diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. The HR Manager will also organise team-building activities and events to strengthen employee engagement and morale.
In addition, the HR Manager will oversee HR compliance, policies, compensation and benefits. This includes ensuring compliance with Australian employment laws, maintaining HR policies and managing workplace health and safety. The role involves overseeing payroll, enhancing employee benefits and implementing retention strategies. By utilising HR data and analytics, the HR Manager will track key performance indicators and provide valuable insights to senior leadership, contributing to informed decision-making.
