About the Role Swinburne University of Technology is seeking an Alumni Engagement Specialist to strengthen alumni relations and align engagement activities with the university’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Alumni Engagement, this role will lead the Alumni Leaders Program and develop a comprehensive stewardship plan to engage alumni across Australia and internationally. The successful candidate will drive strategies that involve alumni in key initiatives such as honorary recognitions, the Alumni Impact Awards, and global alumni celebrations. They will collaborate closely with internal teams – including Schools, Employability, Future Students, and Marketing – to integrate alumni engagement across university programs and enhance institutional value. This role requires someone who can quickly build strong relationships, offer strategic insights, and track engagement outcomes. A results-driven approach to data, feedback, and reporting is essential, along with a passion for connecting alumni to Swinburne’s mission and future. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: - Demonstrated relevant experience, preferably in a tertiary education environment, with a sound knowledge of appropriate concepts, methodology, and practices - Demonstrated organisational and project management skills, including planning, scheduling and reporting to deadlines with limited supervision - Proven ability and extensive experience in stakeholder relationship management and development and delivery of strategic engagement initiatives - Strong people engagement, relationship development and customer service orientation Qualifications A degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training What Swinburne Offers - Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options and generous parental leave to support a balanced lifestyle. - Exclusive staff discounts, including discounted Medibank health insurance, 50% off Swinburne courses and other partner offers. - 17% super and salary packaging options, including car leasing and extra super contributions.
