Weston Public School is part of the Cessnock Principal Network and a proud member of the Kurri Kurri Learning Community. It serves a community with a FOEI of 158 and provides quality education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. There are currently 275 students enrolled at the school of which 91 students identify as Aboriginal.
The school strives to give all students the opportunity to reach the highest outcomes in all aspects of their development (academic, personal, social, cultural, sporting and civic). There is a strong focus on equity for excellence, explicit teaching through EaST Mathematics and high potential and gifted education (HPGE).
The school is building collaborative partnerships with the Korreil Wonnai AECG and delivers cultural programs and promotes these within the Aboriginal community. The school will undertake audit and external validation in 2026 and is currently establishing a department onsite preschool to commence in 2027.
Our values of being safe, respectful and responsible guides and promotes a harmonious school environment. The school has developed an outstanding reputation with dedicated, professional and conscientious staff members both teaching and non-teaching.
Student growth and attainment is closely monitored with individual and targeted support being provided where growth is not evident. Students in need of intervention are identified and receive intensive intervention from the Learning and Support Teachers and support staff.

Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2025 and Principal Level P2 for 2026.
