Position Duties
A Support Coordinator’s duties may vary depending upon the specific needs of the participant and the goals outlined in their NDIS plan. Day to day duties of the position may include (but are not limited to):

- Engaging and coordinating service providers on behalf of participants and linking participants to those supports
- Meeting and engaging with participants to develop and refine their goals
- Engage participants informal supports
- Managing, planning, monitoring and reporting on service delivery
- Working with participants to help build their own capacity and independence
- Building knowledge of local services and organisations participants can utilise
- Liaising with statutory bodies and key stakeholders
- Providing crisis support to participants
- Monitoring and managing the participants budget and coordination of plan
- Work as directed within the scope of practice while maintaining a degree of flexibility to genuinely meet participants needs and enhance
participants progress towards achieving goals
- Escalate concerns to a Director if they feel they may potentially exceed their scope of practice
- Report any potential or identified restrictive practices to a Director

Position Skills:

- Communicate effectively through clear and concise language, both written and oral including case notes and report writing
- Work independently using initiative and self-direction within scope of practice
- Provide a systematic, logical approach to problem solving
- Work cooperatively with team members in a productive way
- Follow instructions, procedures and utilise resources in an efficient and environmentally conscious way
- Provide a high quality and responsive service, actively listening and seeking feedback
- Be calm, patient and understanding to participants needs
- Build high quality relationships with external stakeholders
- Utilise active listening skills in interactions with participants and team members
- Communicate openly, honestly, and constructively
- Participate in organisational training, meetings, and supervision
- Manage time effectively and regularly review and self-reflect personal progress
- Work towards and maintain required productivity rates

Essential Criteria:

- Relevant qualification with relevant experience or a minimum of 3 years’ experience through previous appointments
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NDIS
- Knowledge of statutory requirements
- Demonstrated skills and understanding of planning, implementing, and evaluating plans
- Quality and Safeguarding NDIS Worker Module
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a registered roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum 3rd party property)
