Details: The Justice and Community Justice Directorate is seeking an experienced leader with senior management skills to permanently fill the role of Assistant Commissioner, Offender Reintegration in ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS).
This position reports directly to the Commissioner of ACTCS and is accountable for the effective leadership, management and operations of the Offender Reintegration Branch.
The ACT Government is committed to providing a corrective services system in the ACT that reflects the most modern practices consistent with meeting its aims of promoting rehabilitation, reducing recidivism, protecting human rights and maintaining security and ensure best practice service delivery in a correctional services environment. We are looking for a collaborative leader who can deliver outcomes for clients and the ACT Community, with the ability to work effectively with a range of Government and non-Government stakeholders.
As a key member of the ACTCS Executive Leadership Team, the Assistant Commissioner, Offender Reintegration is responsible for ensuring that the safety of the community is a priority and is required to work within the Justice and Community Safety Directorate and in partnership with internal and external stakeholders for positive criminal justice outcomes, reducing recidivism and the provision of support services for detainees and offenders under the care and custody of ACTCS.
The ideal candidate will have senior leadership experience in custodial or community corrections, or related government or non-government organisations.
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $288,060-$298,258 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $254,964.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
