Details: The Office of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People Commissioner is seeking a Senior Case Manager. The Office for ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People undertakes individual and systemic advocacy and monitoring in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the child protection system as well as other areas where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families are disproportionately represented.
The Senior Case Manager is an integral part of the Office and will work closely with staff to undertake a broad range of case management duties to assist the Office in achieving its objective to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, and their families.
The Senior Case Manager is focused on delivering the best possible life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and families through responsive client service underpinned by best practice trauma informed case management.
To be successful, you will demonstrate experience working with children, young people and their families in a social work/case management role, and the ability to understand and apply relevant legislation underpinning the role of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People Commissioner.
Eligibility / Other Requirements:
- Experience working with children, young people and their families or carers in a social work/case management role, and / or experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities in a frontline setting.
- Background/security clearance checks may be conducted.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical check.
- This is an identified position only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, social welfare or a related discipline would be highly regarded. Please note: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who do not have these qualifications, but who have appropriate and relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage and experience are encouraged to apply.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
