What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified individuals wishing to be considered for the role as the Executive Officer for the Assistant Commissioner Specialist Protective Command (AC SPC).
The position works closely with the Assistant Commissioner and Senior Executive to identify and integrate initiatives and priorities in line with business plans and outcomes. The position is also responsible for the collation and drafting of strategic reporting on behalf of Specialist Protective Command, provision of high level advice and support to AC SPC, and the development and implementation of projects as required.
As the Executive Officer you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. The expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirement of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
Deliver high level strategic, corporate and project support to AC SPC on all matters involving the Office of AC SPC;
Research, analyse and formulate responses to existing and emerging policy and governance issues for the Office of AC SPC;
Provide support for day-to-day high level tasks directly related to the Office of AC SPC, including drafting talking points, event briefings and high level stakeholder/partner agencies engagements;
Manage the research, planning, delivery and coordination of initiatives related to the Office of AC SPC;
Undertake high level planning and coordination for all AC SPC activities;
Provide high level verbal and written advice to stakeholders on behalf of AC SPC;
Effectively contribute to enhancing liaison and partnerships with key partner agencies and stakeholders on behalf of AC SPC;
Support SPC and/or AC SPC at various stakeholder meetings and provide briefings on outcomes to SPC SES;
Work with AFP Media to respond to both reactive and proactive media for SPC;
Utilise AFP Information Systems to interrogate, collate, input and retrieve data; and
Undertake project and research work to support AFP business on behalf of AC SPC.
Essential requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
High level Parliamentary and Ministerial Support services through demonstrated political awareness and AFP acumen
High level communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated effective liaison with partners and stakeholders
