Position Information

Warwick Farm Public School is a small, culturally diverse public school located in South Western Sydney, catering to approximately 212 students. Our families represent more than 40 nationalities, with 5.9% of students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and 70% coming from families with a Language Background Other Than English. The school community is highly dynamic, as reflected in a relatively high student mobility rate.

The school currently operates nine mainstream classes, supported by a dedicated team comprising both early career and experienced teachers. Staff are committed to implementing student-centred, evidence-based teaching practices that enhance learning outcomes and foster academic growth. In 2026, the school will establish its first special education support class, expanding its capacity to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

A small number of specialist teachers further enrich the school’s provision, including an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) teacher and a Learning and Support Teacher. The school’s executive team consists of two Instructional Leaders, two Assistant Principals, and an Assistant Principal, Learning and Support. The school also serves as the base for the Liverpool Vision Team and the Senior School Psychologist.

Warwick Farm Public School maintains strong and productive partnerships within the local community. The school collaborates closely with neighbouring schools, including Liverpool Hospital School and Mainsbridge School, and works in partnership with community organisations such as Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections to enhance student wellbeing and engagement. All stakeholders work collaboratively to realise the school’s shared vision for excellence in teaching, learning, and care.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and complex, challenging behaviours, with a strong commitment to inclusive education.

- Evidence of outstanding, flexible classroom management skills that focus on improving student engagement, creating a positive learning environment and promoting inclusive practices in all school settings.

- Ability to differentiate the curriculum and implement individualised, culturally responsive learning programs in collaboration with students, staff, parents, and allied health professionals to maximise student success.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
