Total Remuneration Package: valued at up to $156,253.00. Base salary ranges from $90,177.00 to $137,861.00, plus leave loading and the employer's contribution to superannuation. Base salary rates above the minimum are available depending on experience.

Position Information

Cook School provides support for students who have been identified by their mainstream school as those who could benefit from the intensive educational and social support of a specialist setting. Cook School runs four distinct specialist programs for 77 students across K-12. Cook School sets challenging, yet attainable goals for all students. The emphasis is to provide students with a safe and caring environment in which they can access quality teaching and learning. Two of the four programs at Cook School operate on an integration model, where students initially attend for four days and then integrate into home schools or work placements one day per week.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach special education and or a demonstrated capacity to teach K-12 in a specialist education setting for students with behaviour difficulties, emotional disturbance and/or autism

- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality teaching and learning programs, differentiating the curriculum for a diverse range of students in multi staged classes with a focus on literacy, numeracy and high expectations

- Evidence of outstanding, flexible classroom management skills that focus on improving student engagement, creating a positive learning environment and promoting inclusive practices in all school settings

- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to contribute positively to whole school culture and to work collaboratively and effectively with all stakeholders

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
