Business Development Manager - Power Quality Products AU

The opportunity:
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager in Australia to lead our Power Quality business growth. The AU PQ Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and growing the AU PQ product portfolio from within and beyond the existing customer base with a specific focus on growth with newly developed products in key global markets and continual growth of AU PQ products in local markets by working with Front End Sales, Sector Leads and the BU Sales Organization.

How you will make an impact:

You will reestablish, stabilize, and grow existing product portfolio in defined markets, develop and grow new product offerings in defined targeted markets and attend key industry events aligned with target markets.

You will establish customer / sector specific plans for growth in conjunction with the appropriate sector leads and key account managers, align sales and marketing strategies with country, HUB, global BU and GPG strategies, lead marketing and promotion activities for defined portfolios and markets, and own key relationships with strategic customers while aligning with the appropriate sector leads and key account managers.

You will ensure achievement of sales volumes and product mix targets for the business, provide sales forecasts for the business, and refine sales plans to achieve targets.

You will co-ordinate with SMEs and product managers for customer technical promotional activities where required, contribute to Product Development via feedback from users to influence design or features, work with relevant sales resources to ensure opportunities are bid on time and aligned with customer expectations.

You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

You hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, preferably with relevant post-graduate qualification/s or equivalent experience.

Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally gained in the energy sector.

Experience working with Power Quality Products and Solutions would be advantageous but not essential.

Demonstrated track record of achieving results through effective communication and collaboration skills, strong understanding of the principles of electricity transmission and distribution systems as well as protection techniques used in these networks.

Ability to travel frequently domestically and internationally to engage with customers and attend industry events. Advanced interpersonal skills are necessary to build trusted relationships internally and externally at all levels of the organization. Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and changing market conditions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required along with strong organizational abilities.
