We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be involved in both design and technical support tasks related to electrical systems — from drafting to hands-on involvement in workshop and field functions.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing drawings, plans, and diagrams of electrical installations and circuitry.
- Assisting Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design and layout of electrical systems in substations, switchgear, cabling, and motor control systems.
- Collecting data, conducting tests, performing complex calculations, and preparing charts and tabulations of results.
- Estimating material quantities and costs for electrical projects.
- Inspecting drawings and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying, and repairing electrical equipment and installations.
- Performing workshop functions, including the installation of protection relay assemblies, metering, and indicating devices.
- Assisting with research and experimental programs as required by engineering staff.

Skills & Qualifications

- Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering Drafting or similar qualification.
- 2+ years of experience in an electrical drafting or electrical technician role.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software (Revit or similar is a plus).
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
