CAHS helps children grow and thrive and we offer these same opportunities to the nurses who join our team. Our team-oriented approach allows for extensive clinical upskilling, and leadership development opportunities for nurses of all levels. About the Role We are currently inviting applications for the role of Lived Experience Coordinator. To be eligible, you must have: - Extensive personal lived or living experience of mental health challenges and recovery, or significant experience supporting a child or young person through their mental health journey. - A proven ability to apply your lived experience and the principles of lived experience practice to inform and enhance service development and delivery. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the CAMHS management teams to support the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the Lived Experience (Peer) Mental Health program. Key Responsibilities - Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and support to Lived Experience (Peer) workers, and contribute to training initiatives within the Mental Health Services team. - Act as a change agent, offering expert guidance and working alongside leadership and operational teams to embed lived experience, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approaches into service models and practices. Eligibility to Apply Applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments). About our CAMHS Directorates - Community CAMHS – offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. - Specialist Services and Day Programs – includes Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone, supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs. - Acute CAMHS – based at Perth Children’s Hospital, with a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric In-reach Team (PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.
