By joining Relationships Australia Queensland, you can be part of a dedicated team making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities.
About the role
Are you an experienced leader ready to make a meaningful impact in the fight against domestic and family violence? We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Domestic Family Violence (DFV) Co-response service in Cairns, working closely with the Queensland Police Service (QPS). In this pivotal role, you will lead and support a team of DFV practitioners, ensuring high-quality, consistent service delivery to clients and stakeholders.
As Team Leader, you will provide direct supervision, operational leadership, and clinical oversight, while managing casework, performance, and duty of care responsibilities. You’ll play a central role in implementing organisational strategy, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a collaborative team culture committed to client safety and positive outcomes. Your expertise will be vital in supporting both the Regional Service Manager and frontline practitioners, identifying and addressing gaps in service delivery, and ensuring compliance with best practice standards.
If you’re passionate about leading change, supporting your team, and delivering integrated, client-focused services alongside QPS and community partners, we encourage you to apply.
Additionally, you will
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with Queensland Police Service and other key stakeholders to enhance coordinated responses to domestic and family violence.
- Monitor and analyse service delivery data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead regular team meetings, debriefings, and reflective practice sessions to support staff wellbeing and professional development.
- Manage human resource functions for your team, including recruitment, performance reviews, training, and workplace health and safety compliance.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of client care and organisational compliance.
About you
To thrive in this role, you are a highly motivated and experienced leader with a strong understanding of community service provision and a proven track record of success in managing multi-disciplinary teams across diverse locations. You possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You are a strategic thinker with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families.
Additionally you will possess
- Relevant undergraduate qualification in Business, Social/Behavioural Sciences and/or Law.
- Leadership skills including the ability to engage and motivate others and positively influence organisational culture
- Knowledge of current theory and practice relating to community service provision
- Experience in client service delivery including: complex case management, assessment, intake and risk screening and critical incident response
We Can Offer You
At RAQ, we believe in supporting our people both inside and outside the workplace. Here’s what you can look forward to as part of our team:
