About the role

Mater Pharmacy has an opportunity for one of our current staff Pharmacists to become the acting Pharmacist Team Leader for Cancer Services in a full-time capacity for 12 months on a maximum-term contract, commencing in January 2026.

Salary range: $73.12 - $76.30 per hour (Health Practitioner Level 5) plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits

What you’ll be doing
In this role you will be leading a team of pharmacists and technicians to provide a clinical pharmacy service to patients and staff of the Mater Cancer Care Centre, as well as both public and private inpatient wards. The role is primarily based at our South Brisbane campus but will support and collaborate with the Mater Cancer Care service to Mater Springfield and Mater Redland.

In all settings, you will provide supervision and leadership in the day to day operational and professional management of the team, using high level communication and organisational skills to inform and take direction from Pharmacy Management, collaborate with other Mater leaders and clinicians, and engage with key external stakeholders. You will be responsible for collaboratively initiating, planning and participating in the review of pharmacy policies and procedures, and best practice guidelines in order to deliver a high quality service and meet key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement and lead the development and implementation of plans that enhance service delivery and support the continuum of care.

This role will work closely with our on-site sterile manufacturing facility and clinical trials unit and also involve some time in the central dispensary including a share of evening, public holiday and weekend shifts as well as provision of an on-call service on a rostered basis.

About you

This is an ideal position for a senior pharmacist with relevant experience to share their clinical knowledge and apply leadership skills to ensure a consistently high standard of pharmacy service is provided.

To be considered for this role you must have:

- Prior experience within Cancer services and use of Charm Health oncology software
- The flexibility to work all shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

- A professional attitude, effective communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.

Other highly regarded attributes include:

- The ability to work at all Mater Hospital locations including South Brisbane, Redland and Springfield
- Previous experience in a leadership position will be highly regarded.
