Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (RV) Salary: HSO Level G8 $135,972 - $140,644 per annum pro rata Location: Murdoch Unit/Division: Fiona Stanley Hospital > Clinical Services Work Type: Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time, Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time This is a recruitment pool for permanent full‑time, permanent part‑time, fixed‑term full‑time and fixed‑term part‑time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Two and a half full‑time equivalent positions are available for immediate start. Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783‑bed tertiary hospital offering a range of services including rehabilitation, cancer, mental health, maternity, paediatrics, neonatal and burns. It also provides specialised heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine. South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within an area covering more than 3,300 square kilometres of the southern half of Perth. Role Overview The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist engages, educates and leads clinicians while conducting retrospective and concurrent reviews of clinical documentation to ensure that best practice standards are met. The role ensures that documentation accurately captures the patient episode of care – including diagnostic information, treatment plan, clinical treatment, clinical reasoning and decision making – and delivers educational aspects of documentation improvement and policy advice in compliance with national standards. Key Responsibilities - Participate in ward rounds, grand rounds, divisional and other meeting forums. - Conduct retrospective and concurrent reviews of clinical documentation. - Develop and deliver educational sessions on documentation improvement. - Provide policy advice and support compliance with national standards. - Engage and collaborate with clinicians to promote accurate and complete documentation.
