BaptistCare is seeking passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to bring clinical excellence, leadership in care, and compassion to our residents across the Macquarie Park campus: Shalom Centre, Dorothy Henderson Lodge, and Cooinda Court.

About the role

As a member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist team, you’ll be the go-to expert for high-level clinical support and assessments and will work collaboratively with the care team to deliver rights-based, safe, person-centred quality care. You’ll actively lead practice improvement within the homes by specialising in key areas such as palliative care or dementia care and or complex wound management. This is a real opportunity to make a meaningful difference to care outcomes and the quality of life & wellbeing of those who reside with us and entrust us with their ongoing care needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Specialise in a clinical area/s to enhance quality of care and resident wellbeing
- Deliver expert clinical assessments and care plans
- Mentor Registered Nurses and work with the (onsite) Nurse Educators and Care Team Managers to enhance standards of care
- Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, including General Practitioners and Allied Health Practitioners to champion & achieve continuous quality improvement
- Lead clinical response to unplanned incidents
- Champion continuous improvement and quality care
- Follow and respond to the assessment referral process in a timely manner

About you

- You are a Registered Nurse with 5+ years’ experience (3+ in aged care)
- You hold a Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical specialty mentioned above
- You possess proven leadership and mentoring skills
- You have a deep understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Charter of Aged Care rights
