The Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a great employee experience. This is a part-time role (3 days per week), ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, flexibility, and precision in their work.
You’ll work closely with our People & Culture and Finance teams to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, with all statutory obligations met.
Core Activities
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees using Employment Innovations & Employment Hero.
- Maintain employee records and ensure accurate data entry for new hires, terminations, and employment changes.
- Review and interpret relevant Awards, the National Employment Standards (NES), and company policies to ensure compliance.
- Manage superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory deductions.
- Prepare and lodge reconciliation reports.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and assist with month-end reporting.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from employees.
- Liaise with Employment Innovations’ advisory team as required to ensure compliance and resolve complex queries.
- Support annual processes such as salary reviews, EOFY reconciliations, and audit preparation.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing (minimum 2–3 years).
- Hands-on experience with Employment Hero / Employment Innovations (highly desirable).
- Excellent and in-depth understanding of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation, tax, and NES.
- High attention to detail with strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent communication and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines across a part-time schedule.
