Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is located 50 km south of Perth in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. The Role

WCHS is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Workplace Transition Support Officer to join our team. The successful applicant will support the operations of the Workplace Learning Program, assisting in planning programs for individuals or groups to develop life skills and promote positive development.

You will evaluate enrolment and completion data and provide reports to the School Administration team, and research and identify pathways for employment or activities other than employment. You will assist in locating appropriate industry placements/activity providers for students, conduct site checks and meetings with prospective employers, liaise with employers and relevant workers on duty of care requirements, and provide information to parents and staff on the Workplace Learning Program.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- A CV of up to four (4) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position
- A four (4) to five (5) page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating suitable programs for students acquiring life skills and/or accessing recreational activities.
- Demonstrated well developed keyboarding and computer skills, including a working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, employers and parents.
- Demonstrated sound organisational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and identify priorities.
- Demonstrated initiative and sound problem solving skills, including the ability to identify appropriate solutions.
