Overview
The Contracts Specialist will support the Contracts Superintendent with strategic sourcing category and contract management. The role is responsible for assisting in outcomes that reduce the total cost of our operations and cost improvement for our capital projects whilst mitigating commercial risk.
You will apply exceptional commercial and contract acumen and drive the source to the contract lifecycle process (planning, strategy, market optimisation, contract execution, and contract management) to achieve the best business and operational outcomes.
You will apply a business partnering and a highly collaborative approach when working across the business with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
This is a permanent role working in Townsville and on-site as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the entire source-to-contract lifecycle in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Liaise across the business to determine scope of requirements.
- Use market intelligence to identify opportunities and solutions that considers TCO objectives.
- Undertake risk assessments and ensure mentation strategies are identified and implemented to minimise supply and commercial risks.
- Market engagement lifecycle management including preparing, issuing, receiving tenders, and negotiating, drafting contractual outcomes.
- Undertake contract management activities including kick-off meetings, periodic performance reviews, contract reviews in consultation with stakeholders.
- Participation of continuous improvement sessions to assist in the ongoing development of the function.
- Input into overall department strategic planning.
- Develop and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
- Influence contractors to improve controls and mitigate risks.
- Contribute to periodical reporting as required.
- Influence contracts to improve controls and mitigate risk and gain ongoing benefit.
- Oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and development of systems and processes to ensure optimum procurement and warehousing practices.
About you
- A Bachelor in legal, commerce, or business-related filed is essential.
- Extensive experience (2+ years) delivering strategic sourcing and category management initiatives.
- Professional Body accreditation (CIPSA, ASCI) (Desired or working towards).
- Excellent Commercial, Procurement, Contract Management, and supply chain skills.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering cost savings and operational improvements.
- Substantial cost modelling abilities.
- Use of BI tools and SAP ERP (Desired).
- Current ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
