Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Specialist II to join our Fortune 150 Energy client's team. This role involves leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies for high-value materials and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and strategic sourcing, with the ability to work independently on complex projects. This team handles around Duke Team scope (250,000 contracts up to 100 million dollars).

Role location and arrangement: Charlotte, NC (3 days onsite)

Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $36.00/hr

Employment type: W2 consultant with eligible benefits

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze supplier responses and manage contract negotiations to drive cost savings.
  • Oversee supplier relationships and post-award activities, including handling disputes and maintaining agreements.
  • Participate in change management strategies and mentor sourcing personnel.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives for the Regulated and Renewables Energy business unit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of related supply chain experience.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and negotiating complex categories.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Equipment background – able to support Project Managers with technical qualifications for equipment and transfer that information into a commercial bid package and RFP; working knowledge of equipment and plant helps for success in this role.
  • Labor background or construction background is nice to have.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid work model with both remote and onsite work (3 days a week).
  • Some travel required, with expenses reimbursed (travel counted as an onsite day).

  • This role supports projects in the Midwest, Florida, and regulated renewables in NC/SC.
  • Training will be provided on specific platforms and projects.
  • The position offers the potential for full-time employment.
