Details

Location: New Sports Bar & Entertainment Venue in Geraldton, Western Australia (Licensed Tavern)

Start Date: Full time employment commencing July 2025

Salary Package: $85k-$100k Salary package may be negotiated based on level of experience and skill sets.

Reporting to: The Venue Manager will report to, and be supported by, the General Manager and Directors of Avocet Island Pty Ltd.

Direct Reports: Personnel reporting directly to the Venue Manager will include food & beverage service, kitchen service, security, cleaning, and social media/marketing team members. This may also include contractors and other personnel as appropriate.

The Venue Manager Role

The successfully recruited Venue Manager will ideally assist the business owners/project team with final elements of the new business set up and roll-out.

Once operational, the Venue Manager will present as the face of this new business and will be a highly motivated, organised, and experienced hospitality manager with a keen interest in sports and a passion for team building and next level customer service.

The capacity and flexibility to manage front & back of house; administrative duties; venue assets and equipment; events; a dynamic team; and a variety of consumer markets with a high level of skill and professionalism is essential.

Ongoing training and support will be supplied to the Venue Manager by the Avocet Island Pty Ltd General Manager and Company Directors (over 35 years of experience in hospitality and tourism across Australia and internationally).

Essential Attributes for Prospective Candidates

- Must exemplify personal integrity and self-awareness

- Able to stay calm under pressure and ensure work is finalised

- Must be an Australian Citizen

- Must have a Valid Driver’s Licence (manual/automatic – Western Australia)

- Must have Responsible Service of Alcohol certification

- Must have Approved Manager certification

- Must have previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or management role

- Must have previous experience in Liquor Licensing compliance

- Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and public holidays as rostered

- Must provide referees from previous employers
