We’re on the lookout for a passionate and energetic Squad Coach to join our team at Centenary Aquatic Centre. This casual role will involve coaching across our squad program and with our school programs. About the role

The role is casual and based at Centenary Aquatic Centre, reporting directly to the Head Coach and Lead Coach.

Key Responsibilities

- Program Implementation: Assist the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs that address swimmers/' needs across various skill levels.

- Swimmer Development: Foster a positive and supportive training environment, encourage swimmers/' progress, and facilitate a smooth transition between the Learn-to-Swim and Squad programs.

- Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to ensure consistency and high-quality coaching across all programs.

- Community Engagement: Promote club participation and encourage swimmers to participate in club activities and local, state, and national competitions. Attend these to support swimmers/' development

- Communication: Maintain positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and the wider community.

- Aquatics Coaching Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in aquatics coaching.

- Schools Programs – Support the delivery of coaching for our GPS, QGSSSA and CASSSA School swimming and training programs.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can build and balance the multifaceted nature of the role. Key traits and experience include:

- Prior coaching experience

- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with swimmers and stakeholders and take them on their journey to develop swimmers to their full potential.

- Strong communication, teamwork and collaboration skills, willingness to work with the site team and engage with swim teachers

Qualifications

- Coaching accreditation – Development/Bronze or Higher

- Current Blue Card

- Current Lifeguard Qualifications (or willing to obtain)

- Willing to undergo a National Police Check
