What you’ll do: - Prepare preliminary monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for management review. - Undertake and maintain general ledger and trial balance reconciliations as well as controls to guarantee data integrity across all accounts. - Complete monthly accruals and journals while meeting strict deadlines to support efficient month‑end processes. - Partner with various departments to create budget accountability at every level, offering guidance and support to non‑financial managers. - Evaluate performance against established business benchmarks by conducting detailed variance analysis of both financial and non‑financial data. - Prepare cost centre reports each month, including comprehensive analysis of variances to inform operational decisions. - Assist in the preparation of financial models that underpin both operational planning and long‑term strategic initiatives within the hospital. - Ensure all finance process controls meet internal policies as well as external audit requirements, maintaining compliance at all times. - Provide support to other finance functions as needed, contributing positively to team objectives and cross‑functional projects. - Promote strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as department heads and external partners to deliver positive outcomes for the organisation. What you bring: - Hold a tertiary qualification in Business or a related field, demonstrating a solid academic foundation relevant to accounting practices. - Have completed or are actively working towards CPA or CA accreditation, reflecting your commitment to professional standards within finance. - Demonstrate experience using accounting software packages along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel formulas and functions for effective data analysis. - Showcase highly developed interpersonal skills that enable you to consult, network, and build collaborative relationships internally and externally. - Possess strong analytical abilities combined with creative problem‑solving skills that allow you to explore new approaches when addressing challenges. - Exhibit proven capability in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while establishing clear priorities under tight deadlines. - Display integrity by handling confidential information discreetly and acting with sincerity in all professional interactions. - Bring experience streamlining business processes and documenting procedures for greater efficiency within finance operations. - Demonstrate familiarity with health industry finance practices or show willingness to quickly adapt knowledge to this sector if coming from another background. - Maintain a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team while embracing organisational values centred around empathy, respect, and continuous improvement.
