Our client is a major electricity and gas retailer operating across the National Electricity Market. They are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Analyst to support their compliance function through monitoring, analysis, and reporting of regulatory obligations.

You will track compliance performance, prepare regulatory reports, conduct compliance assessments, and provide analytical support to ensure the business meets its regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Monitoring & Reporting

- Monitor compliance performance across customer operations, sales, and billing

- Track compliance metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators

- Prepare regulatory reports including AER performance reporting

- Maintain compliance registers and obligation tracking

- Analyse compliance data and identify trends, issues, and risks

- Compile data for compliance statements and regulatory submissions

Breach Management & Analysis

- Track and document compliance breaches and incidents

- Maintain breach registers and incident records

- Support breach investigations and root cause analysis

- Analyse breach trends and identify preventive measures

- Monitor remediation actions and corrective measures

Data Analysis & Documentation

- Extract and analyse data from operational systems for compliance purposes

- Develop compliance dashboards and reporting tools

- Conduct data quality checks and reconciliation

- Maintain compliance documentation including policies and procedures

- Prepare compliance briefings and updates for stakeholders

Audit & Regulatory Support

- Support internal compliance audits and reviews

- Prepare audit documentation and evidence

- Assist with external regulatory audits and AER reviews

- Compile information for regulatory enquiries

- Monitor regulatory developments and rule changes

About You

Essential Requirements

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Compliance, or related discipline

- 3-5 years in compliance, regulatory affairs, or analytical roles

- Knowledge of retail energy regulations including NERL and NERR

- Experience with compliance monitoring, reporting, or analysis

Analytical & Technical

- Strong analytical skills with ability to analyse compliance data

- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

- Experience extracting and manipulating data from systems

- Attention to detail with focus on accuracy

- Problem‑solving capability for compliance issues

Regulatory Knowledge

- Understanding of National Energy Retail Law and Rules

- Knowledge of customer protection frameworks and consumer law

- Familiarity with AER compliance and reporting obligations

- Awareness of retail energy operations

Communication & Organisation

- Good communication and report writing skills

- Ability to work effectively with operational teams

- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks

- Self‑motivated with ability to work independently
