Department Overview

Nomura’s Investment Banking Division (IBD) provides a vast array of advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public-sector organizations around the world. Our global teams act as geographic, product and industry specialists

The Financial Sponsors Group (FSG) is an integral part of IBD and works seamlessly in collaboration with coverage groups and product teams to provide comprehensive and innovative advisory, financing and risk solutions to our private equity clients across global sectors such as consumer, retail, industrials, healthcare, technology, financial institutions, and Greentech (including renewable energy, infrastructure, and power)

Responsibilities

- Assist in managing relationships with financial sponsor clients and helping to identify deal opportunities

- Drive and coordinate with internal product and coverage teams to assist with deal execution

- Conduct valuation analysis, build and review complex financial models, strong understanding of LBO structures, debt financing, and capital structure optimization

- Analyze portfolio companies and assess potential exit scenarios or value creation strategies

- Prepare pitch books and marketing materials for client meetings; stay current on market trends, sponsor activities, deal flow, and sector dynamics

Requirements

- Minimum of 4+ years of investment banking / corporate finance experience

- Advanced financial modelling and financial analytical experience

- Strong written and verbal communications skills – ability to interact confidently with clients and other professionals

- Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups or regions

- Self-starter who can drive projects and workstreams

- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment in order to meet deadlines

- A strong sense of personal integrity and teamwork, including guiding and supporting analysts

- A high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts
