About the role

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the fleet operations team, ensuring efficient coordination of vehicle movements, driver dispatch, route compliance, and maintenance scheduling. This leadership role involves supervising fleet controllers or coordinators, driving continuous improvements in safety, performance, and compliance, and acting as the primary point of contact for operational escalations.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Oversee the daily scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of fleet vehicles.

- Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of vehicles and goods.

- Monitor real-time fleet performance using GPS and fleet management systems.

- Maintain up-to-date records on vehicle availability, usage, and downtime.

- Supervise, coach, and support a team of fleet controllers or coordinators.

- Lead regular team meetings and provide performance feedback and development.

- Ensure adherence to all transport legislation, including fatigue management, NHVR, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and company policies.

- Conduct or oversee incident investigations and support safety audits.

- Ensure that driver and vehicle records (licenses, inspections, servicing) are up to date.

- Act as the escalation point for service delivery or driver-related issues.

- Monitor KPIs (e.g., delivery performance, fuel usage, vehicle uptime) and report to management.

- Collaborate with maintenance teams to reduce vehicle downtime.

What You'll Bring:

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fleet control, logistics coordination, or transport operations.

- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience required.

- Strong knowledge of fleet management systems

- Familiarity with transport compliance and safety standards (CoR, NHVR, fatigue laws).

- Experience working in high-pressure or 24/7 operational environments is advantageous.
