The Company
Our client is a Canadian commercial aerospace giant offering aircraft manufacturing, engineering, aftermarket modifications, parts manufacturing, and flight training services for over 100 years. They have approximately 1,200 employees across Canada and in markets worldwide.
Their Australian operations include supplying aircraft and avionic engineering services to major flight providers such as Qantas and Jetstar.
Role in brief
The Regional Support Office Manager oversees the Aftermarket team in Sydney and remotely located teams in Oceania/APAC. The role includes managing daily activities and providing high-level customer support, acting as a point of escalation.
Travel to Canada for initial 2-3 months training and ongoing training several weeks per year is required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and strategic direction to a cross-functional team
2. Develop financial and operational objectives for the region
3. Manage resources to meet objectives
4. Guide and evaluate staff performance
5. Liaise with local regulatory authorities
6. Serve as the in-region management focal point for Aftermarket activities
7. Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to uphold company values
8. Develop strategic support plans for regional customers
9. Resolve issues with local teams in real-time
10. Manage office operations including legal, payroll, benefits, and governance
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 7-10 years in the Aviation/Aerospace industry with at least 2 years managing cross-functional teams
- Experience managing projects across functions
- Familiarity with aircraft types like DHC 1-8, Aerial Fire Fighter
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to solve complex issues and make real-time decisions
- Customer-centric mindset with focus on exceeding expectations
Salary & Work Rights
- $180K - $190K + Super, depending on experience and qualifications
- Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents only
