This role offers an exceptional chance to work as a pharmacist in a regional hospital setting. The pharmacy team at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is experienced and close-knit, providing clinical and support services to 12 rural and regional hospitals across the New England North West of NSW.
The position involves rotating between clinical areas and dispensary throughout the year. As a multidisciplinary team member on wards, you will review patient medications, provide clinical advice, and help patients and carers adjust to changes in medicine regimens. This diverse role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care to regional patients.
You will be supported by a network of senior pharmacists, district QUM team, and educator. Access to regular education – both in-person and virtual – is integral to our workplace, including in-services, grand rounds, and regular district pharmacist education services. For those new to hospital pharmacy, we offer comprehensive support in transitioning to the hospital environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical advice and information to nursing and medical staff
- Review patient medications and adjust medicine regimens
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in regular education sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and skills
Requirements:
- Proof of eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration agency, Pharmacy
- Ability to demonstrate fulfillment of criteria for Grade 2 Pharmacist in accordance with the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award
