This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the Defence Trailblazer for Concept to Sovereign Capability - a collaborative partnership between the University of Adelaide and UNSW.
Defence Trailblazer are seeking a dynamic Project Manager – Technology Development and Acceleration to collaborate closely with senior academics, industry partners, defence and university to support the development and execution of high-level project plans and resourcing requirements.
Reporting to the General Manager, Technology Development and Commercialisation the successful candidate will become a valued addition to the existing team as the third Project Manager for Defence Trailblazer; with the two existing Project Managers based at UNSW, Sydney.
This opportunity calls for an agile individual who is able to think on their feet and draw experience from a similar role. Alongside the technical knowledge of the project management life cycle, the successful candidate will bring their refined stakeholder engagement skills to succeed in the role.
To be successful you will need:
- Proven advanced project management experience, with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Experience with managing the delivery of strategic projects.
- Excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within an organisation.
- Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
- Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.
- Experience working in the Defence environment.
Qualifications:
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- The successful candidate may be required to hold or attain an Australian government security clearance.
Some interstate travel throughout the duration of tenure will be required.
