About the role
We have an opening for a General Manager, Major Agribusiness Clients. This role (GM MAC) plays a pivotal leadership role within Rabobank's Country Banking Australia division, overseeing the Major Agri Client segment. This role is accountable for the segment's financial performance, risk management, governance, and cultural leadership, while also contributing to the broader strategic goals of Country Banking Australia, including sustainability initiatives.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Deliver financial outcomes across NPAT, RAROC, ROIC, and cost-income ratio. Manage asset growth, credit quality, margins, and fee income.
- Shape and execute medium-term business development strategies, identifying key growth opportunities and prospects.
- Ensure alignment with risk appetite, maintain high credit standards, and collaborate closely with Portfolio Management and Risk teams.
- Uphold Rabobank's standards in credit risk, responsible lending, and regulatory compliance.
- Strengthen relationships with high-value clients, ensure strategic account planning, and enhance deal quality and lifecycle efficiency.
- Lead a high-performing MAC team, foster a values-driven culture, and drive capability development, succession planning, and operational excellence.
- Build strong partnerships with senior leaders across Country Banking, Wholesale Banking, and Risk, ensuring seamless client coverage and strategic alignment.
What you will bring to the role:
- Extensive experience in a Senior Banking/Leadership role, running portfolio's and corporate style teams
- Comprehensive experience in Rural banking or similar at a senior level
- Proven experience in navigating complexity through change and adapting accordingly.
- People leadership experience and capability and proven coaching and mentoring skills.
- Market contacts and knowledge of the Wholesale / MAC Agri client segment nationally
- Knowledge of a wide range of financial products, including loan, deposit and derivative products
- Advanced financial analysis skills including balance sheet, profit and loss statement analysis, and cash flow interpretation.
