Duty Technical Manager

Make an impact on the continuing airworthiness of our growing fleet. Join QantasLink’s Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) and play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of our Dash 8 Q400 and A220 aircraft.

Reporting to the Manager Airworthiness Operations, you’ll join a newly expanded Maintenance Watch team as a Duty Technical Manager. You’ll be responsible for CAMO oversight of fleet airworthiness, managing defect rectification and deferral, and supporting operational performance.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, maintenance, and flight operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee fleet reliability and defect management.

- Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective maintenance execution.

- Monitor disruptions and provide realistic rectification timeframes.

- Collaborate with Planning, AMOs, ROC, and Flying Ops to minimise delays.

- Ensure compliance with CAMO Exposition and procedures.

- Act as a key liaison between CAMO, AMOs, and ROC on airworthiness matters.

- Approve defect deferrals on behalf of CAMO.

- Maintain accurate records in TRAX and report on technical issues.

What You’ll Bring

- LAME B1 or B2 with 5+ years in Line or Base Maintenance, or Maintenance Watch/Tech Support experience.

- Type rating on Dash 8 and/or A220 (or similar aircraft) desirable.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Proven commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.

- Experience managing AOG recovery.

- Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
