POSITION OBJECTIVE:
• Assist in developing, reviewing, documenting and implementing the Engenco HSEQ and Rail Safety Management Systems in line with relevant Legislative and business requirements.
• Monitor and advise on the HSEQ & Rail safety performance of business units and produce data and reports on performance against set indicators.
• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation in WHS, QA, EMS and Rail Safety.
• Provide training, guidance and assistance to personnel in all levels and Departments of the business in HSEQ & Rail related elements.

The following responsibilities may evolve and other duties may be directed according to training and competencies that contribute to the on-going success of the business and customer satisfaction. Duties will be reviews from time to time and may be changes at the sole discretion of the Company.

Technical

• Agreeing on standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
• Developing, reviewing, revising and implementing HSEQ and Rail Safety documentation to ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation and business requirements
• Defining and implementing processes & procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
• Setting and maintaining controls including documentation processes.
• Assist in identifying relevant HSEQ related training needs and delivering training, including toolbox talks, safe work procedures, safe work method statements, etc.
• Conduct internal and external 2nd party audits as per the Audit Schedule, with reporting in a timely manner.
• Assist in ensuring inspections, tests and procedures are properly understood and carried out.
• Writing technical and management systems reports.
• Assist in the development of tenders and enquiries.
• Identifying areas for process improvement, providing recommendations along with implementation.
• Regular review of relevant legislative documentation including Rail and Safety Acts and Regulations to keep abreast of changes.
• Liaise with external parties including Auditors and Regulatory Bodies to ensure Engenco meets the compliance requirements and follow up and assist with implementation of any corrective actions as required.
• Develop data and reports on the performance of the Rail and HSEQ system against set indicators, including reporting to external Regulatory Bodies.

• Comply with and implement all relevant legislative requirements including Act’s, Regulations, Standards, and Codes of Practice.
• Assist with injury and accident reporting, including investigations follow up and implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments at various business and operational levels.
• Monitoring and advising on the performance of the HSEQ and Rail Systems including producing reports on the performance against the set key performance indicators
Quality:
• Monitoring of actions relating to quality processes.
• Ensure relevant legislation requirements are adhered to and practised
• Ensure accuracy of data and information at all times
Accountabilities:
• Ensure Company Policies, procedures and safe working practices including ‘Makesafe” standards are adhered to all times.
• Ensure efficient time management
• Report and act on issues and risks that may affect the business.
• Monitoring of all relevant standards, regulations and Legislations for change.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential:
• Formal qualifications in either HSEQ, engineering, quality reliability engineering or related technical discipline.
• Familiarity with the tools, concepts and methodologies of quality management systems (QMS).
• Auditing qualification and proven experience.
• Effective communication and report writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• The ability to promote continuous improvements in HSEQ processes at all levels
• Sound skills in use on Microsoft program suite.

Desirable:
• Qualification and/or experience in safety elements including risk management.
• Strong focus on Quality Assurance and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience in the Mining or Rail Maintenance sectors.
• Well-developed project management skills.
• Qualification and/or experience in training and assessment.
