Position Overview:
As an In‑home Family Support and Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. Working with some of Australia’s best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.
Our shift times vary between Monday to Sunday from 0600AM – 2200PM. No overnight shifts required Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at‑risk youth.
- Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
- Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
- Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
- Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
- Deliver Trauma‑Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma‑informed approaches.
- Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.
What You Need:
- ✅ Hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar (see full list of accepted qualifications on our website)
- ✅ Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher)
- ✅ Personal vehicle with comprehensive insurance and QLD vehicle road safety certificate
- ✅ Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- ✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate
- ✅ The ability to work a mixture of short, long, split and transport shifts
