About The Role

The Procurement Officer develops and / or manages low risk whole of government or departmental contracts and provides advice to key stakeholders. This involves undertaking or assisting with the development of procurement plans, tender and evaluation documents, and contract management plans. The role will provide support and advice for all types of contracts; consult with government agencies, industry and the community, and maintain positive and effective stakeholder relationships. It will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote compliance with the Department’s standards, processes and procedures.

About You

We are seeking motivated and talented professionals with a passion for providing great customer service who are able to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to tailor communication style to their target audience. These roles also require strong interpersonal, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills. We are looking for individuals who display high attention to detail, have the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and are willing to learn and develop. We seek someone who shares our vision and values and has the energy and drive to see that goals are achieved and realign priorities when required.

The ideal candidates should have previous experience in contract and/or project management/development, and a good working knowledge of the WA Procurement Rules is desirable. But these roles also suit people who are analytical and enjoy problems solving, and have sufficient computer proficiency to complete administrative duties, write reports, and other professional documents. If you don’t have project or procurement experience, you may have skills or knowledge that would transfer well to these opportunities.

The position operates in Personal Leadership context . This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.
