Volunteer Opportunity – School Board Treasurer

Description

Kerry Street Community School is seeking a Treasurer to join our passionate and supportive School Board. This is a voluntary role and a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the governance of our unique democratic school.

About the Role

- Attend two evening Board meetings per term.

- Attend two Finance Sub-Committee meetings per term.

- Provide financial oversight and guidance to support the Board’s decision-making.

- Review financial reports, budgets, and compliance documents prepared by our Business Manager.

- Help ensure the school’s finances remain transparent, accountable, and aligned with our strategic direction.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience or confidence with financial management, accounting, or bookkeeping.

- An eye for detail and commitment to good governance.

- A collaborative spirit and interest in community-based education.

- Prior Board or committee experience is helpful but not essential.
